 Annapolis, Bodega Bay, Occidental, Stewarts Point, Unincorporated Petaluma (Two Rock), Albion, Boonville, Comptche, Covelo, Fort Bragg, Mendocino, Laytonville, Leggett, Manchester, Point Arena, Willits, Hopland, Calpella, Potter Valley, and Redwood Valley

This FREE program includes one 60-minute lesson conducted by a Sonoma Water educator. 


Energy Hero Lesson Summary:
This hands-on, engaging lesson uses visuals, movement, activities, and models to teach students about the difference between weather and climate, the basics of climate change, and simple ways to use less electricity.   

Essential Question:

  • How is electricity use connected to our changing climate? 

Learning Objectives:

  • Students will understand the difference between weather and climate.  
  • Students will recognize that climate change is caused by the warming of global temperatures due to increased greenhouse gases in our atmosphere.
  • Students will explore what our community is doing to reduce greenhouse gases and identify ways they can use less electricity.
